Interview With Andrew
Miller
Great Job in week 4, Andrew! You put up a great
score of 258.65 to win the week 4 Championship and Five Thousand Dollars!
Did you have a philosophy when you chose your
team? Did you emphasize any positions?
My philosophy for picking teams is a simple one. Use stud players as much as
possible and look for favorable match ups. Typically, I try to tier each
position to identify value for each position.
What were some of the key players you picked at
higher salaries that you felt confident would be worth their price tag?
For week four, I started off by focusing on QB (I liked the match up for
D-Nab and figured that Manning would be consistent) and Defense (believed
that Atlanta and Dallas both had high potential for big games). For running
backs, I took Kevin Jones because of his catch passing skills demonstrated
all season and the hopes that he would have a huge game against a poor run
stopping defense in the Rams. Then I filled in the rest of the running backs
based on what happened after choosing my TE, Kickers, and loading up on
great receivers (choosing the best in Steve Smith and undervalued TJ
Houshmandzadeh and Isaac Bruce (who I thought would have a good game, plus I
heard that the Rams were reverting back to the old style offense). I was
disappointed in Ronnie Brown and Warrick Dunn's performance, but
fortunately, I had the right blend of scoring elsewhere. Once my decision
was made, I stuck with the teams that was drafted. However, my second team
did not fair as well because I chose Westbrook (all of the fantasy resources
predicted that he would play and I did not have time to change the line-up
after I learned that he was going to miss the game - typically, I shy away
from injured players because of the risk).
When did you fee confident that you had the
Championship wrapped up?
Going into Monday night, I felt that I had a shot at falling into the top
10, but could not believe that McNabb was going to have such a huge game. I
hoped that Donald Driver would have a solid game (or at least pick up a lot
of garbage points near the end) to help me distance myself from other teams,
especially those with D-Nab. All in all, I felt that I had to wait until the
game was over before truly believing that I finished in the top spot to win
$5,000.
What do you think of the "weekly contest"
concept?
I am a big fantasy football player and have invested a lot of time and money
into the sport. The weekly concept is great because it allows for you to
have a shot at winning every week, whereas some of my other teams that
started off slow, may be too far behind to be competitive anymore this
season.
Did you enjoy the live scoring and the live
leader board and did you monitor it throughout the day?
It was a great feature!
What other fantasy contests are you playing in
and how are you doing in those?
WCOFF, Fantasy Jungle, and a couple of private leagues and doing well in
most, but won't know for sure until the season is officially closed.
The most important question.....will you be
signing up for Big Daddy's Weekly contests in the future?
ABSOLUTELY!
Thanks, Andrew! Great job and we wish you the
best of luck in future weeks!
Thank you for running a great game and I look forward to playing every week.
