Interview With John
Lowery
Great Job in week 4, John! You put up a great
score of 250.2 , to win the week 5 Championship and Five Thousand Dollars!
Not to mention the fact you also took down third place as well and another
Five Hundred Dollars! Nice week!
Thanks a lot. A little research and a lot of luck finally paid off!
Did you have a philosophy when you chose your
team? Did you emphasize any positions?
I actually break each game down every week and give my own projections and
rankings. The wide receivers are the wild card in my opinion. They will make
or break your team.
What were some of the key players you picked at
higher salaries that you felt confident would be worth their price tag?
McNabb has been an absolute stud this year and I thought he would want to
stick it to Terrell Owens when he came to Philly. Larry Johnson I felt would
be the only guarantee to do well at the running back position, so he was
worth his expensive pricetag.
What sleepers did you throw in and why? Were
you happy with their performance?
I have been a Lion fan forever (sigh), so I knew that their porous defense
would allow Chester Taylor to have a nice day. Also, Greg Jennings is
building great chemistry with Brett Favre and I felt sure they would connect
on a long touchdown pass or two against the Rams.
How many times did you change your lineup over
the weekend before you decided on the winning lineup?
I changed it a few times here and there. I had trouble sleeping Saturday
night (with so many players to think about) so I woke up early and went and
tweaked my rosters so I would feel better about them.
When did you feel confident that you had the
Championship wrapped up?
When my 4 o clock players produced well, I knew I would probably win it.
With 2 defensive games going on Sunday and Monday nights, I didn't think
many managers would have more players still going.
What do you think of the "weekly contest"
concept?
I love it. It is so much more exciting than some other contests I am in.
Most of these, you probably have no shot of winning by now if you did not
have a good start. Big Daddy's makes Sundays much more entertaining because
you start afresh each week with new teams....and new leaders!
Did you enjoy the live scoring and the live
leader board and did you monitor it throughout the day?
The updated leaderboard is great! I watched it for four straight hours on
Sunday. Intense action!
What other fantasy contests do you play in and
how are you doing in those?
I play in several other football contests (just don't tell my girlfriend),
among them the fantasy jungle, sportsbuff, and affl leagues. I am doing very
well in a couple of them, and struggling in the rest.
5 grand is a nice chunk of money the first week
of the season....do you have any plans for it?
We are looking to buy a house very soon, so the money will come in very
handy.
The most important question.....will you be
signing up for Big Daddy's Weekly contests in the future?
Absolutely, I have promoted this game to at least 3 other managers who
participate in it because you cannot beat it for excitement in the fantasy
world! I am a diehard and a returning customer for sure.
Thanks, John! Great job and we wish you the
best of luck in future weeks!
Thanks again and keep up the good work!
