Interview With Ken
Palumbo
Great Job in week 9, Ken! You put up a great
score of 327.85 , to win the week 9 Championship and Five Thousand Dollars!
Nice week!
Did you have a philosophy when you chose your
team? Did you emphasize any positions?
My philosophy was to look for value in week 9's
match ups. After settling on the teams that I thought would have a good day,
I then went to the players on that team that I thought would have a good
day. I wanted value over big name, big ticket players. I emphasized one pick
of the each player position.
What were some of the key players you picked at higher salaries that you
felt confident would be worth their price tag?
It all starts with LT, how can you pass him up. I took a shot with Marvin
Harrison at a high price when I could have saved a few dollars and taken
Wayne. I felt that it was going to be Harrison's week and luckily I was
right. I forced my wife to sit up with me and cheer for Harrison the whole
night. When he made that one handed catch in the end zone I knew it was his
night.
What sleepers did you throw in and why? Were you happy with their
performance?
It is hard to call Colston a sleeper but he is cheap and hard to pass up. I
was happy with his performance.
How many times did you change your lineup over the weekend before you
decided on the winning lineup?
I did not change my line up a single time. Being a former big time gambler,
I know the worse mistake you can make is to start second guessing yourself
or listening to the so called experts. Unless a player gets hurt or the
weather will effect the outcome, I don't believe in making changes.
Did you feel confident going into the Monday night game that no one would
catch you?
I felt pretty confident going into Monday night. I felt even more confident
when I read the weather report in Seattle. I did stay up and watch every
play of that very bad and boring game just to ensure that I wrapped up the
victory. I was surprised to score the amounts of points that I did, I think
that was a Big Daddy record. Just lucky.
What do you think of the "weekly contest" concept?
I love the weekly contest concept. Being a FFL participant, the seasons can
be long. I play in a satellite league and another league and although I am
in 1st and 2nd place it gets a little boring having the same players week
after week. I love the fact that you can have a player that you have never
had before. Just signing an LT, LJ, Manning etc is exciting. We all play
this great game pretending to be a GM so your great concept has allowed us
all to dream a little bit better.
How did you hear about BIG DADDY'S FANTASY SPORTS?
I heard about your wonderful web site by my best friend and week 7 winner
Todd Smith. He was a good man to pass along what turned out to be some very
valuable information.
Will you be playing again and how confident are you that you could win
another championship?
I will definitely be a weekly participant. I played again in week 10 and
finished in 11th place, just out of the money. I am very confident that I
will be taking home another 5k in the near future. If I was able to post the
highest score once I should be able to follow that up with at least 1 more
winning week.
Great job, Ken. Congratulations once again.
Thank You! |
