Frequently Asked Questions
What is the biggest difference between this
game and my normal fantasy game I play in?
The fact that every week is a new season
and a new opportunity to win! If you get off to a bad start in your seasonal
game you are more than likely out of contention, and there is nothing worse
than not having a vested fantasy interest each week of the season. In our
contest you have a chance at winning prizes every week as you start from
scratch and enter a new team.
I am used to my draft style league, what is
the difference between that and a salary cap league like this?
In a draft style contest, once a player is picked he is exclusively owned by
that team and you cannot use him. In a salary cap contest you are given the
chance to put the best team on the field each week by using your management
skills and spending your money wisely. Each week you will have $550 of “cap
room” to create a team. Players vary in salary depending upon their fantasy
performances from years past and expectations this season. This will allow
you to take into consideration many factors that a draft league would not,
such as injury factors, weather conditions and team matchups as well as
scout for low salary value players that could have a huge week. All this
leads to more skill and less luck so the best managers will prevail each
week!
Are there leagues in this weekly contest?
No. This contest is an open league contest,
meaning that your team(s) compete against all other teams that have entered
for that week. The teams with the most points are the winners.
The prizes are guaranteed?
That is absolutely correct. We do not base
our prizes on the number of entries and we are guaranteeing our advertised
payouts each week regardless of the number of entries.
What will happen if the membership goes
through the roof? Will the prizes always stay the same?
We would love to raise our prizes at some
point this season and offer a weekly first place prize of $100,000! So help
us spread the word!
I read that you will be offering other
prizes throughout the season, is that true?
In the spirit of generating as much
excitement as possible, in upcoming weeks we will be giving away plasma
televisions, trips to Vegas, I-Pods, and many other exciting prizes. We will
be making announcements soon!
Will I be able to view the lineups of my
competitors?
Absolutely! Once the deadline passes and
the teams are locked, you will be able to click on any team and it will show
their lineup for the week.
Can I follow the progress of the teams
throughout the games?
Yes. Once the games start, our live scoring
feature allows you to click on any team and follow it throughout the day. It
is updated almost instantly and has all of the stats broken down for each
player as they accumulate them. It also updates the Overall Leaderboard as
the game progresses!
Will there ever be ties?
The odds of any two teams being the same,
given all of the position requirements, would be very unlikely. Also, with
our intricate scoring system that carries out the points to the nearest
hundredth, we don’t foresee ties being an issue. But in the rare event two
teams did tie, they would simply split the prize money.
Can I enter all my stud players at higher
salaries and leave out a kicker or a defense if I stay under the salary cap?
No. This would be an invalid lineup. Part
of the strategy behind this contest is to create the best lineup for that
particular week. This means filling all required roster positions. If you
leave any position unfilled, your team is invalid and not eligible for
prizes. Make sure you fill out your entire team each week!
This sounds great, how many teams can I
enter and do I save money if I enter multiple teams?
The maximum amount of teams per customer is
5 and yes, there are discounts for multiple team sign ups. You can save $25
by entering 5 teams, which is essentially getting a team for free. You can
also save when you enter 3 or 4 teams!
Do I need to enter multiple teams to win?
Absolutely not. Of course the more teams
you enter the better your odds are of winning, since you can vary your teams
(play stud receivers on one team, stud running backs on another, etc.) But
it only takes one team to win, although you could have multiple teams in the
prize spots.
Do I have to play every week?
No. Since it is a weekly contest, you can
play any week of the season or every week of the season..
Are the prizes paid out weekly?
Yes. The prizes are paid out each week!
Prize checks are mailed the Friday following your week’s victory.
